Sicily: Original home of liberal multicultural thinking!

Living in Toronto makes it easy to have a really positive view of multiculturalism, as it really defines this city and the people who live here.  The music scene in particular benefits from the interactions of musicians from different backgrounds.  But Sicily, where so many refugees are showing up right now fleeing civil war, was more than once the intellectual centre of Europe, a place of enlightenment, where different languages, cultures, and religions co-existed.   Wish I could hop on a jet to England to check this exhibit out, because it sounds like a good one:
