Don Byron and Michael Occhipinti 

Don Byron first came to Toronto in 1997 as a featured guest with NOJO, and he's been a regular part of NOJO and Michael Occhipinti projects ever since.  Don appears on two of NOJO's albums, as well as on Michael Occhipinti's Creation Dream: The Songs of Bruce Cockburn, and The Sicilian Project's Muorica.   Don just performed 4 nights with NOJO at the Rex in Toronto, and it was a blast reuniting with our first esteemed guest!  Video coming soon!

Meanwhile, stay tuned for the next time we can play quartet with Rich Brown (bass) and Jinu Isac (drums) as we did last year at the Ottawa Jazz Winter Festival and 4 nights at the Rex, with a freewheeling  high energy repertoire that touches on everything from the modern rhythmic compositions of the co-leaders to James Brown and Hank Williams.
